Joshua was born free in Georgia in about 1840. His mother was Elizabeth Burke, and his grandmother was Lucretia Burke. His siblings by birth order were Sarah, Josephine, Samuel, Alethia, James, Edward, Frances, and Lemuel.
Joshua Burke was a cooper, which is a skilled trade that involves making wooden barrels for dry goods and liquids.
His Wife was Susan Mack Burke, whom he married in 1882. She had two previous children, Annie and Beauregard Mack. Joshua and Susan together had at least one child, Elizabeth Burke.
Burke died in 1887. I could not find a record of his death, only a brief listing on Find-a-Grave.
